I was fortunate to attend this year’s DanceAfrica 2015 Bazaar hosted by BAM – Brooklyn Academy of Music. This is the largest African festival in the nation and has been around for over 30 years. This year’s event was from May 23rd to May 25th. More than 150 vendors lined up on the streets of Ashland Pl and Lafayette Ave in Brooklyn offering affordable and one-of-a-kind African fashion and arts that would fit perfectly in a museum.
Everyone at this event was so stylish and beautiful. They all seemed happy to be there. The kids were playing drums, adults were dancing and just having an amazing time. I was very happy to see so many beautiful black women wearing their natural hair. I had such a great time at this festival and will definitely be back next year.
Below are some of the images of the arts and fashion and the beautiful naturals among the attenders.
