Khaite, a New York-based fashion brand, which finally debuted at New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019 is the brainchild of Cate Holstein, a Parsons graduate and former designer at Gap, Vera Wang, and The Elder Statesman. Khaite first debuted back in 2016 as a nod to old school American fashion that celebrates women and femininity.
The brand already has a cult following as it is currently sold by Net-a-Porter, The Line, and Matchesfashion. However, debuting at NYFW, which in my opinion, was long overdue, was like a dream come through to many lovers of fashion who have longed to fill the void left by fashion powerhouses like Altuzarra and Rodarte who no longer showcase at NYFW.
The fall/winter 2019 collection debut at NYFW took place in Brooklyn and featured so many great looks, accessories, textures, silhouettes and patterns. There were Western looks – hello suede fringed jacket, work looks – pantsuits and blazers, ball gowns, exaggerated shoulders, rocker chic, and velvet statement tops. Whether you want to dress for work, award show or ball, romantic dinner dates etc there is a look for you.
Take a look below at some of my favorite looks from the collection
