Style Fashion Week organized my first shows on day one of NYFW at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. This was my first time at Style Fashion Week and OMG! I was amazed! I was so hyped about the incredible showcases that if I didn’t see any more shows during NYFW I would have been fine. Not only were the designers incredibly talented but the music artists that performed in between shows were dope. At a point I wasn’t sure if I was at a fashion show or a music concert. Some of the designers that showed their fall/winter 2017 collection include:

David Tupaz

I was mostly excited to see David Tupaz because I listed him as one of the designers to watch at NYFW. My expectation was high and he didn’t let me down. His collection was on the preppy side. I saw lots of tweeds, plaids, pearls and fascinators. It is the perfect collection to wear for a breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Mario De La Torre

This designer brought sex appeal to the runway. The collection featured lots of body hugging dresses with sexy high slits. There were capes, jumpsuits and bare shoulders. If you are considering what to wear to a hot steamy date, this is the right collection for you.

Zoan Ash

Zoan Ash lit the runway on fire with romance. There were lots of floral dresses, red, lace and bare backs. It is the perfect collection for a romantic date. What a coincidence that Valentine’s Day was few days away from the day of the showcase.

Adrian Alicea

Adrian Alicea brought the most drama to the runway. Designer gave us lots of black, hoodies, fur hats and feathered hair. I definitely cannot forget the beautiful men with their abs of steel.

M the Movement

M The Movement brought back the harem pants. There were lots of leather, graphic tees, leggings and men in skirts who looked more sexy than I would have imagined. This collection was more sporty and casual.

Ydamys Simo

Ydamys Simo was more about the kids and let me tell you, these kids did not come to play. The kids that walked this runway gave off a kind of fierceness that I didn’t see in the adult models. The collection featured lots of glitters and sparkles, fringed dresses, velvet and big hair.

Richard Hallmarq

Richard Hallmarq gave us the chic military look. And there were also sweater dresses, turtle necks and uneven hems. The video below doesn’t tell the whole story.

WangLiLing

WangLiLing gave us an all black collection, fringed jacket and sexy high slits. Most of the designs were styled with black socks in black heels, black clutches and tassel earrings.

Eddie Eddie by Billy Tommy

Billy Tommy changed things up a bit and showed us why hip hop isn’t going anywhere. The models walked the runway while some hip hop artists performed. The collection featured lots of cool graphic hoodies styled with ripped skinny jeans. This collection is for the cool kids.

Richie Rich

This was the final show of the night and it seemed like it was the show some of the people were waiting for because I heard people around me saying finally and clapping their hands. The collection gave us lots of color and so much fun. There were bedazzled denim jackets, sequins and statement necklaces. Some looks were styled with boots and cross-body bags.

The music artists that performed were amazing. There were so many of them but below were the artists that got me really hyped.

Miri Ben-Ari

She has worked with artists like Jay Z, Kanye West and Twista. There was this guy sitting behind me that seemed to be greatly in love with her. You will hear him screaming throughout her performance in the video.

Mims

He performed his old hit “This is why I’m hot”.

Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees) and Layzie Bone (Bone Thugs-N-Harmony)

Both artists walked the runway of M the Movement.

Overall, Style Fashion Week did an amazing job! The designers were great! I thought some of the designers had similar collections. I saw lots of hoodies, high slits, men skirts and capes. Let’s just say capes are here to stay. If you were tired of seeing celebrities wearing them on the red carpet you better get ready to see more of this fashion trend.

I don’t have any photos of my own but lucky for me and you, Maria Gordova of Geometria New York took great photos of the collections that showcased at Style Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2017 so check them out here.
