The Met Gala, which some call the Super Bowl of fashion; others call the Oscars of the fashion industry is happening this Monday, May 6th. Regardless of what anyone may call it, the Met Gala is no doubt the biggest fashion event of the year.
It happens on first Monday in May of every year and organized by Vogue to raise money for the Met’s Costume Institute and celebrate the grand opening of its latest exhibition. Who is who in Hollywood is invited to this event and everyone always bring their fashion A-game for a great cause.
There is a different theme every year. Last year’s theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. And this year’s theme is “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” This theme is inspired by Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay that defines camp as “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.”
In anticipation of Monday, let’s take a look back at some of the best fashion moments at previous years’ Met Gala.
Rihanna

Blake Lively
Blake Lively was a sight to behold last year. She recently announced her third pregnancy with Ryan Reynolds at the Premiere of Reynolds’ new movie, Detective Pikachu. I wonder if she will be at this year’s event and if she can top this look.
Zendaya

Zoe Saldana
Zoe Saldana was a feathered beauty at 2016 Met Gala.
Rihanna
One more time for the queen of Met Gala once again giving us her best interpretation of 2015 Met Gala theme: “China: Through the Looking Glass.”
