My wedding day has already come and gone. It seems like yesterday he proposed and we started talking about the wedding and everything we need to take care of to make it the wedding of our dreams. One of the things I thought of was definitely what I’m going to wear. Yes, wedding dress was number one on that list but another thing that was equally important was my wedding day accessories and then my shoes. As any Nigerian bride will know, you never plan for one outfit for your wedding day, you must plan for two or three outfits. Although, some brides even plan for more outfits but those are the brides that have extra money to spend, which we don’t have as long as we live in this expensive NYC. Me, I planned for two outfits – my wedding dress including the shoes and accessories that will go with it and my reception dress plus the shoes, clutch and accessories.
I’m not a huge fan of silver so I was going to rock gold accessories with my wedding dress but a wonderful lady I met at Lord & Taylor when I was shopping for my wedding day accessories told me she has never seen a bride wear gold accessories with her white wedding dress. She advised me to stick to tradition and wear silver. She was right because looking at my wedding photos now gold jewelries would have looked weird with my wedding dress. Anyway, I bought Givenchy silver earrings and bracelets and Anne Klein silver wrist watch for my first look. I completed my look with the beautiful Tiffany & Co bracelet my girls gifted me.
And for my second look, I finally bought my coveted gold jewelries – Anne Klein jewelry set from Lord & Taylor. This jewelry set was love at first sight. I searched the entire store including online for a gold jewelry set that will be perfect for my reception dress style. I had a budget in mind so was very careful not to go above that. I must say planning my wedding taught me how to better create and manage a budget. Out of all the jewelry brands I found and admired, Anne Klein and Givenchy were the best ones within my budget. And this gold jewelry set was exactly what I needed to complete my second wedding look. I’ve always loved Anne Klein for its classiness and affordability. You can look like a million buck in an Anne Klein product but without spending a million buck. I came across jewelries that cost a lot more but were ugly and not worth the high price tag.
Being the lucky bride that I am, Daniel Wellington decided to sponsor the rest of my accessories. They sent me their latest collection – Classic Petite Melrose in rose gold and their Classic Cuff also in rose gold.
Daniel Wellington’s Classic Petite Melrose
Each of my Daniel Wellington watch has a leather strap but for my wedding I opted for a metal strap to accentuate the classic elegance of my wedding day look. The watch features a black dial and is in rose gold, which is my favorite type of gold. To raise the classic tempo, I paired it with the Classic Cuff also in rose gold.
In addition to providing some of my wedding day accessories, Daniel Wellington also gave me a 15% discount to share with my readers and followers. Use the code LAMODEEXPOSE to get 15% off any Daniel Wellington’s watch and cuff. This offer is active until December 31st, 2017. Don’t waste any more time.
