For years I thought cheap and effective skincare products would only be a dream because I always believed only the expensive ones will treat my skin concerns. But then I started paying more attention to my skincare last year and it was no longer a dream. I discovered cheap brands with great products that addressed my skin concerns just like the descriptions said. And living in NYC made it easy for me to buy products from these brands because they had stores all over the city.
But I also realized that many of these cheap and effective skincare products were on Amazon for cheaper the price. I’ve bought and tried lots of skincare products from Amazon since last year but the products listed below are the ones I’ve bought again and again. I understand everyone has different skin concerns and not every product will work for everyone. But we all want to use effective products that are affordable and will treat our skin concerns and make us feel good. And I’m telling you, if these products worked on my oily, acne-prone, dry and sensitive skin they will work on your skin.
I had the worst of sensitive skin. Most products broke me out and I was scared for years to deviate from my standard products of acne treatment. It wasn’t until last year that I started experimenting with other products and was shocked when new products that don’t even treat acne didn’t break me out. I am now some sort of a cheap product junkie and I get most of my products from Amazon.
I swear by these products because they have done wonders for my skin. Sometimes I ask myself if I ever had acne-prone, sensitive skin or I just imagined it. But I know it’s hard to imagine those concerns especially when I have the acne scars and dark spots they left behind. Thanks to some of these products, I am finally getting rid of my acne scars and dark spots. I can’t get rid of the oily skin though and honestly, I don’t want to because it will keep my skin looking young and fight off signs of aging. But I like to control them by using matte products in the final step of my skincare routine.
You can also buy these products from other online stores but I realized that most of them are cheaper on Amazon and with Amazon Prime, I get them faster. Click on the product name or image if you want to buy it.
I started using this product in May and since then my sensitive skin has stopped being a major concern. According to the description, it contains snail mucin and bee venom that help to heal acne, fade acne scars, and brighten skin tone. It is recommended for people with sensitive skin. This product was clearly made for my skin because since I started using it, acidic serums that usually sting my skin doesn’t sting anymore. My forehead used to be extremely sensitive due to severe dryness but this product made the sensitivity disappear.
Before paying closer attention to my skincare, I used only alcohol-based toners. Why? Because I didn’t know any better. But now, I use only hydrating toners especially Klairs’ because it hydrates my dry skin and calms my sensitive skin. My preferred way of applying a toner is with a cotton pad but when I need extra hydration, I apply the toner multiple times with my palm.
I suffered from severe dryness on my forehead during the winter due to my eczema flaring up. So, I was applying multiple products for extra hydration and this product was a lifesaver. I apply it immediately after toning for extra hydration. I still use it even now that we are in fall and I will continue to use it every season.
This is one of my latest finds. I started using it this month and it has proven itself to be a holy grail. I apply it every night before going to bed and wake up to nourished and moisturized lips.
I love this cleanser because it works overtime as a facial scrub and brightener. I have seen some YouTube videos where people make their own rice water to cleanse their face. This cleanser is packed with rice water so you don’t have to waste time brewing your own. You are probably wondering what is the benefit of rice water? Well, rice water helps to brighten the skin and minimize pores.
This is the second cleanser I love by SkinFood. The brand has lots of great and natural products made with foods. This cleanser is made with egg white and egg yolk. It cleanses pores and removes excessive oil. It’s great for oily skin.
I mentioned earlier that SkinFood uses foods to make their products. This mask, made with black sugar is no exception and it is one of my favorite facial masks. I prefer this mask to my AHA and BHA masks because it doesn’t sting my face. The black sugar granules, rich in vitamins and minerals remove blackheads without tearing the skin but instead adds nutrients and moisture back to the skin.
This was my go-to lip mask before Klavuu. I still like it because it’s not as sticky as Klavuu so I use it on alternate nights.
Laneige was the brand that introduced me to the world of sleeping masks and I have been loyal ever since. This sleeping mask deeply hydrates my skin while I sleep like a baby. I wake up in the morning with a plump face full of hydration.
In case you don’t already know by now, I’m a huge fan of Korean skincare products. And this product, is the only other sleeping mask I use beside Laneige water sleeping mask. The fact that it has collagen sold me. It hydrates my skin while also fighting against fine lines and wrinkles.
Peeling used to scare me until I found out there were more gentler ways to do peeling in the comfort of my own home. This peeling gel gently exfoliates dead skin cells and brightens the skin.
The cheapest and most effective oil cleanser in the market. It gets no better than this. It cleanses my skin to the extent I get tempted not to do the second step. This is the real deal. If you are new to double cleansing you should start with this oil cleanser.
If you’ve noticed, some Korean skincare products contain snail mucin and this is because of its many great benefits such as increasing skin hydration, reducing enlarged pores, wrinkles and fine lines. And these benefits are some of the reasons why this essence is a holy grail for many skincare addicts. If you are still not sure why you need essence in your skincare routine, read this post about how I created the perfect skincare routine to understand why essence is important.
I recently started using this essence also by Cosrx because of its brightening benefits and I love it so far with no complaints.
It is a small container but it lasts for months because you only need a tiny amount. It cleanses deep pores and removes excess oil, which makes it great for oily skin.
Ampoules are similar to serums except they are said to be more concentrated. You don’t necessarily need both ampoules and serums in your routine but some people like me who are greedy for hydration use both. However, I don’t use ampoules everyday and when I do, I apply them right before my serums. This Mizon ampoule has been my favorite since day one. It super hydrates my skin, tightens pores and fights signs of aging.
Well, I did mention I was a skincare addict and this product is one of the reasons. This cream is not a moisturizer! It doesn’t moisturize the skin, it treats and solves multiple skin concerns such as acne scar, enlarged pores, fine lines etc. If you have any of those skin concerns you should try this product. But apply a moisturizer right after using it.
The most gentle cleanser you will ever use. If you believe you have the most sensitive skin this cleanser is for you. I prefer to use it in the morning when I’m only cleansing off last night products.
The best product for excessively dry skin. According to the product description, “it works in two ways: replenishes moisture for up to 48-hour hydration & helps restore skin’s natural protective barrier.” This moisturizer saved my skin during winter.
Speaking of dry skin, this product is what you need for those stubborn areas that refuse to retain moisture. I don’t apply it all over my face. I only use it on stubborn areas like my forehead when it used to be dry and flaky. I also apply it on other parts of my body that need extra hydration.
I have used all of these cheap and effective skincare products and have experienced all their great benefits. These products are also good for men because my husband uses some of them with me. It’s the reason why I run out of some of them so fast. Have you used any of the listed products? Please share your experience in the comment section below.
